News about ‘Strings’

‘I Owe You IV/IV’ is the painting of this month in the ‘Stings’ series.

I have chosen to rename this series from ‘Prof of work’ to ‘Strings’. This is partly because September saw a rapid development in the project and it is now almost ready to be launched. The name strings is somehow more fitting to where the project is at now since all the paintings in the series will be connected to the blockchain as if they were hanging on a string.

This month I finally managed to deploy the ledger that the information about the paintings will be stored on on the blockchain. I have had help from the brilliant team at 0xert to develop the ledger and I am using their technology to store the provenance of each painting on the blockchain.

The provenance set as recorded on the Rinkeby test network on the Ethereum blockchain of the painting ‘I Owe yoU IV/IV’ looks like this:

ID: 63102020

Name: I Owe yoU IV/IV

Description: This painting resembles a landscape that is somehow morphed and set up in a distorted grid. It was done during research in Artificial Intelligence and computer generated landscapes and this painting is an attempt to process the findings. The flower like symbols are interpretations of Merkle Trees.

This marks a new chapter in the development of this particular project and I am so happy that it finally materializes as planed back in 2015. This also means that I very soon will begin to distribute the 63 paintings from the series. If you are interested in becoming a early stage adopter of ‘Strings’ then send me a mail and we can discuss how this could work.

You can go and check the provenance of this test record yourself by searching for the receiver address in etherscan.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you like this painting, I would love to tell you more about it.

‘Strings’ to Ethereum Main net

October will be all about getting ‘Strings’ to Ethereum main net. This means that, by end of October, you will hopefully be able to see the first provenance records of the paintings that are connected to ‘Strings’ on the Ethereum network. I will explain more about this in the November newsletter.
